A PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS is the title of this specialized seminar presented by James P. Bixler, certified appraiser, author and poet. In addition, Mr. Bixler is a Life Member (#3640) of the American Numismatic Association; he has served as a consultant and in other capacities. He has been an appraiser of fine and rare coins for over twenty-five years.The workshop stretches back to the dawn of coinage, or to about 7th century B.C. In keeping with this long span of time, Bixler invites distinguished guests to assist him in the presentation, namely Herodotus, Caesar Augustus, and Isaac Newton, to name but a few. He demonstrates a group of ancient, medieval, Renaissance and modern coins for attendees to view and examine. The wide variety of coins prove useful to those who wish to expand their skills in grading a coin’s state of preservation, along with its value.
Participants are asked to bring a pocket magnifier of at least 4X magnification.
